We, Imlak’esh Organics, stand in solidarity with Standing Rock Sioux, the Great Sioux Nation, and our other Native brothers and sisters in the fight against the Dakota Access Pipeline. This is the largest protest of the century, with people from many different tribes as well as Americans from all over the country answering the call of Standing Rock. These people are mobilizing to protect our most sacred resource: Water.
Superfoods for the Pipeline Protesters
This week, we sent more than 600 pounds of superfoods to nourish and fuel the courageous people who have gathered at Sacred Stone Camp to halt the construction of the pipeline that would span four states: North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Illinois. It would cross the Missouri River, imposing a major environmental threat to the river, which supplies about 12 million people with water. The Missouri River is also sacred to many First Nations peoples. This battle is representative of many issues: indigenous rights, environmental preservation, police brutality, biased media, a corrupt political system … but, as one of the largest protests in years, it is also represents an opportunity for us to shift our society. We must ask ourselves, what role do I play in this? How can I contribute towards a better future?
Our Values
“Water is Life” is the official motto of this movement. We stand by it 100%. We stand by environmental protection. We stand by indigenous rights. We stand for a brighter future.
