Golden Berries

…drops of sunshine in a berry!

Bursting with sweet and tart flavor, golden berries are a delicious treat we think of as Nature’s ‘Sour Patch Kids’. A close relative of the tomatillo, this golden gem is packed with nutrients.

Golden Berries are traditionally used in Andean medicine for lung, urinary, and digestive health. They contain a complex array of antioxidants and an abundance of vitamins.

Imlak’esh ethically sources Golden Berries from farms in the Andean foothills. Cultivation of these berries provide an alternative environmentally-friendly livelihood to toxic mining industries in the region.

Golden Berry Benefits

With their high antioxidant value and low sugar content, Golden Berries can play a positive role in low caloric and diabetic diets. These little golden fruits are powerful detoxifiers. Each berry’s robust nutritional profile—complete with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants—nourish the liver and kidney.

Both organs each play a critical role in flushing toxins out of the body. Plus, these berries also have diuretic properties that help your body purge itself of toxins. The less toxins in your body, the more vibrant you feel!

The Golden Berry Story

Imlak’esh Organics Golden Berries are sourced from an association of 180 family farmers in the Andean highlands. They are grown in a pristine valley in the region of Cajamarca. Unfortunately, the surrounding area is notorious for its copper and gold mining industry. Historically, this industry is hugely destructive both socially and environmentally; causing men to leave their families and villages for months at a time to earn a living in dangerous, toxic conditions.
