Imlak’esh Organics Golden Berries are sourced from an association of 180family farmers in the Andean highlands. They are grown in a pristine valley in the region of Cajamarca. Unfortunately, the surrounding area is notorious for its copper and gold mining industry. Historically, this industry is hugely destructive both socially and environmentally; causing men to leave their families and villages for months at a time to earn a living in dangerous, toxic conditions.

It was a great big bag of golden berries, which was fantastic just for nibbling on, but great for cooking. I tested out some recipes with baking with these. They’re kind of like raisins but golden. Not as sweet, surprisingly as I expected them to be, but I absolutely love them.

The bag does have a convenient zip top for re sealing. 📚 Labeled as "sweet and tangy", "nature's sour candy". This is an accurate description. These do taste exactly like fresh golden berries except for dried so the flavor is a little more concentrated, these will make your taste buds explode! 📚 Golden berries are high in antioxidants and vitamins. This product is all organic and ethically sourced, fair trade, non gmo, vegan and gluten free, & kosher. 📚 Summary… convenient, delicious, healthy! The flavor of these berries is sweet and sour, with a slightly bitter after taste. I use them as I would use raisins. I add them to savory sauces. I also tried them in breakfast cereals, but the bitterness was more pronounced there. This package is small, two ounces. The positive of the small package is that the berries don't dry out.
