Maca Carrot Onion Crackers

Maca is an adaptogenic food that is  most commonly added to smoothies for a nutritious boost.  But this Peruvian root is actually very versatile and can be incorporated into many types of recipes. We love this Maca Carrot Onion Cracker creation published on Young and Raw by Danielle Arsenault. This simple, raw recipe can be made in large batches and stored for up to 2 months. Yield 2 large trays
  • 1/4 cup Imlak’esh Organics Maca Powder
  • 4 large onions
  • 1 cup golden flax seeds, freshly ground
  • 2 cups of carrots, chopped
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 cup hemp hearts
  • 1 cup almonds, soaked and sprouted
  • ¾ cup Nama Shoyu or Coconut Aminos
  • 2/3 cup good quality extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp dried Italian herbs

  1. Mix all the ingredients into a food processor until evenly blended.
  2. Spread mixture onto a dehydrator teflex sheets.
  3. Score into cracker sized pieces.
  4. Dehydrate at 115° for 12 hours.
  5. Flip and peel off teflex sheets. Dehydrate for another 6 hours.
